passenger leaving Krabi will be charged airport tax of 500.-Baht for
international flights. If you fly to any other destination in Thailand the
airport tax is 50.-Baht and is usually included in your ticket price.
Bus and Taxi
Local
busses are called ” Songthaews”, which literally means 'two benches'. They are
convenient and cheap way of traveling. One way from Krabi town to Ao Nang costs
20.- Baht per person at daytime. In the evening it costs 50.-Baht per person
and way. The destinations are marked on the car. Before you enter the car agree
the fare with the driver and pay at the destination. The Songthaews are driving
until 10.30 pm. Agree the fare every time before you board the taxi.
Hospitals
The
Krabi Hospital is located in Krabi Town on Utarakit Road. Phone: 0 75611 202,
0 7561
1210. In order to avoid misunderstandings about the bill, always ask about the
fees before treatment.
Language THAI

especially in tourist places and of course hotels. Don't be surprised to
experience some difficulties in communication as Thai pronunciation of English
is quite different from yours.

hotel provides cleaning service and laundry. There are lots of places outside
your hotel however, that offer laundry service at 30 -40.-Baht per 1 kg
(without ironing).
Massage
You
should definitely try out Thai massage during your stay in Thailand. At the
beach the massage will cost you around 200.-Baht per hour, but this is not a
medical massage as most of the masseurs don't have any training. Therefore we
suggest you should visit one of the SPA centers to get a proper treatment. For
the places recommended by Trans Island Travel you can contact your
representative.
Medical service -
Doctor In
case of emergency the hotel reception will call for a doctor. You will have to
pay the fee directly after the treatment and a refund depends on your insurance
coverage.
Money changing
You
can change your money at your hotel reception, travel offices and exchange
offices. Hotels and travel offices usually offer a lower rate than exchange
offices but have longer business hours. In Ao Nang and Krabi you will find
official exchange offices which are usually open from 8.00 a.m. until 9.00 p.m. You need to show your
passport to change your traveler’s check and to withdraw money with your credit
card. The ATM's work similar to those in your home country.

things Thailand is well known for. Copies of brand watches, jeans, T-shirts and

the supermarkets and department stores with fixed prices. Trans Island Travel
recommend “Gi-Or” for food souvenir, locate in Krabi Town.
Sunbathing
Please
be especially careful in the first few days of your stay. The tropical sun is
much stronger than that in your home country. Cloudy skies or umbrellas don't
protect you from sunburns. Please use sun creams and sun blocks. Keep in mind
